Trousers and Jean Alteration Prices
Our trouser alteration services cater to both men and women across the BCP area. From adjusting ladies' cigarette trousers to re-shaping men’s formal slacks, our experienced team can handle even the most complex tailoring jobs with confidence and care. If you live or work in areas such as Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole, visiting our store in Tuckton for high-quality trouser alterations is convenient and hassle-free.
When you visit Foxy Laundry, our process starts with a personal fitting session. One of our experienced tailors will carefully assess the fit of your trousers, listen to your preferences, and recommend the most suitable alterations. You’ll receive a no-obligation quote and a timeline for collection — with express trouser alterations available if you're on a deadline.
Our aim is always to preserve the original design of your garment while enhancing comfort, proportion, and overall appearance.
Don’t settle for trousers that are too long, too loose, or just not quite right. At Foxy Laundry, we’re committed to helping you look and feel your best with expertly tailored garments that fit like they were made for you.
Once we have completed your alterations, we can hand deliver them back to your home. If you don’t require a fitting and are happy to give us instructions on how you want them altered, we can take care of everything for you.
There are generally three ways to instruct us:
Pin the garment. If it’s shortening the leg, just pin one leg, unless you want them different leg lengths. It’s very common to have one leg bigger than the other.
Provide a measurement in inches or centimetres.
The leg length you require – we recommend against this way as the cut, material or type of footwear impact the length you require. Also, the older we get, the less tall we become!
Did you know trousers often have around 5 cm (2 inches) extra material in the waistband? The amount varies depending on the brand and original size (larger trousers often have more). A common instruction is to let out as much as possible. Jeans do not have extra material in them; the only way to make them bigger is to add a piece of material. We can try to get a similar colour but it will be noticeable unless you have some spare from another pair, for example, if you bought multiple of the same design. If you don’t need a fitting appointment you can instruct us by:
